TEAMWORX Project

Another successful TEAMWORX project was achieved in Smethwick. The powerful partnership led by the Police, Young People’s Service and Fire Service supported by local Primary Schools in Smethwick is growing and achieving remarkable successes for young people. The young people who completed the project all had a very enjoyable time despite all the activities being very challenging and pushing the young people well out of their comfort ones. Activities included farm work at Forge Mill Farm, hill trekking up the Long Mynd at Church Stretton, learning about life outdoors at the Forrest School, and Rock Climbing and Canoeing at Malthouse Stables. To mark the end of the project and to celebrate their achievements, there was a presentation afternoon at Smethwick Fire Station attended by all of the children and their families, head teachers, and senior management from the Fire Service, Police and Sandwell’s Director of Children and Families, Sharon Moore. The young people are all looking forward to putting what they learnt have into practice!
