Get Involved in SHAPE Talent Show

Sandwell Council is looking for talented young people to take part in the annual SHAPE Your Talent competition.

Young people who have a talent in music, dance or entertainment are invited to apply to take part in auditions for this talent competition.

Nearly 1,000 young people have taken part in SHAPE talent shows since they began and nearly 500,000 votes have been received from members of the public.

There are two age categories; aged 8 to 13 and 14 to 19 (up to 25 for children and young people with disabilities) with a prize of £500 up for grabs for the winner of each category.

Auditions will take place from 9 May to 19 May in venues across Sandwell.

Winners of these auditions will be selected by a panel of judges and entered into a public vote.

The winners of the public vote will then go on to perform at the final at Sandwell College’s main campus, West Bromwich, on Friday 29 June, where the winners of each category will be chosen.

*             West Bromwich:  Wednesday 9 May at the Arts Café, New Square, New St, West Bromwich B70 7PG, 5.30pm to 8pm

*             Tipton:  Thursday 10 May at Coneygre Arts Centre, Sedgley Road East, Tipton DY4 8UH, 5.30pm to 8pm

*             Oldbury:  Saturday 12 May at Portway Lifestyle Centre, Newbury Lane, Oldbury Lane, Oldbury B69 1HE, 2.30pm to 5pm

*             Rowley Regis:  Tuesday 15 May at Blackheath Library, 145 High Street, Rowley Regis B65 0EA, 5.30pm to 8.30pm

*             Wednesbury:  Thursday 17 May at Wednesbury Library, Walsall Street, Wednesbury WS10 9EH, 5.30pm to 8.30pm

*             Smethwick: Saturday 19 May at Lightwoods House, Adkins Lane, Bearwood B67 5DP, 5.30pm to 8pm
