Sandwell’s SHAPE Youth Summer Fest is back for 2025, with the biggest selection of free activities ever!
Join in all the excitement on Saturday 12 July from 12noon until 6pm, at Sandwell Valley Showground, West Bromwich (B71 4BG).
The event is FREE to enter and will feature a wide range of fun activities for children and young people. More than 70 services and partner organisations have joined forces with Sandwell Council’s SHAPE team to put on the festival, which has been running since 2015.
The Youth Zone will be led by Sandwell Council’s Youth Services
The zone will feature music workshops and live music and DJ sets, youth bus, climbing wall, Stealth Racer’s F1 Simulator (for aged 16 and over), NHS Youth Forum, Police cadets, Fire Cadets
A mini stage will be in this zone with open mic performances
The Family Zone will be led by Sandwell Council’s Play Services
The zone will have our Go Play providers featuring soft archery, carnival play booth, dart throwing contest and mud painting.
Planting and beekeeping will also be within the family zone for those interested in nature
Digbeth Dining Club’s Bangers N’ Mash Up provide a family rave within our large marquee between 4pm – 6pm. This is suitable for families and children aged 5 to 16 years old.
Our main stage will feature local acts and DJs as well as SHAPE Your Talent winners.
Music programme to be announced….
The Sports Zone will be led by Sandwell Council’s Public Health Team.
The zone will feature a vast number of sporting activities including from boxing, British cycling, Warley Weightlifting club with Olympic Weightlifting, Staffordshire Cricket Club will offer cricket taster sessions, Sports4 Life will deliver NFL Football, West Bromwich leisure centre will provide a mini gym
There will also be a human Zorb bowling open to all ages!
From 9am to 5pm Bustleholme Football Club will be running a borough-wide football tournament for ages 13 and above at King Georges Playing Fields. Click here to register your local team
The Cultural Zone will be led by Sandwell Council’s Library Services.
The zone will feature the mobile library, Chance Heritage Trust and Oak House Museum activities and Driscoll will provide breakin’ dance and graffiti workshops.
Connexions will be delivering a careers Expo from 12pm to 3pm for 14- to 19-year-olds (up to 25 years for those with SEND).
There will be approximately 35 providers who are able to offer opportunities to the young people in Sandwell.
The Young Traders Market is linked to the national initiative from National Markets Traders Federation (NFMT), where 16- to 30-year-olds are offered to the opportunity to trade at a local event and will be judged for the NFMT’s competition to compete in the regional and national finals.
The ever-popular Colour Run is back for an afternoon of fun for the whole family.
Runners have the option to take part in either a 5km or 3km colour run through Sandwell Valley Country Park, as they will be doused from head to toe at 6 different colour stations.
Registration will begin at 12:00pm with a warmup at 12:30pm and the event due to start at 1:00pm. Admission is £15 for adults and £7.50 for children (free admission for under 3-year-olds), with each participant receiving a paint pack & t-shirt.
