Young Women’s Group
This work takes a group work approach with young women, emphasis is on female concerns and raising awareness around young women’s issues, whilst addressing individual and group concerns. Young women come together to plan and participate in a number of activities and insightful workshops that support their development into adulthood. The young women are encouraged to celebrate their individuality and strengths and are supported to identify their potential and develop a plan to address barriers, helping them on their journey to get to where they want to be in life. It’s a great support group for females and we have a number of peer volunteers who can support newcomers to the group.
Young Men’s Group
This work takes a group work approach with young men, emphasis is on male concerns and raising awareness around young men’s issues. Young men are encouraged through a variety of safe but challenging activities and workshops to celebrate their individuality, identify their strengths, developing an action plan to help them to identify where they would like support to reach their full potential as a young man. Young men in this group are involved in planning their own learning and development and are encouraged to support each other as peers.
The Meadows Youth Club
The Meadows Youth Club runs from the Meadows School in Oldbury and is for young people aged between 11 and 25 years of age with learning difficulties or disabilities. The club runs a variety of activities planned with young people to develop life skills and independent living. Sessions include cooking, health and wellbeing, sport and fitness, etc. This is a very welcoming club with a very skilled and friendly staff team, due to the nature of this club an assessment is required to make sure our club can meet the needs of the young person.
