STUDENTS RAISE MONEY FOR DEFIBRILLATOR AT BRISTNALL HALL
Students from Bristnall Hall Academy are proud to unveil their new defibrillator after raising funds to have it installed.
Young people from the academy in Oldbury raised nearly £500 by packing bags at a nearby Asda in Oldbury as well as organising cakes sales and collections around the school.

The defibrillator was unveiled by the Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Ahmadul Haque MBE, Councillor Simon Hackett, cabinet member for children’s services and local ward member Councillor Carol Goult.
Students at Bristnall Hall Academy were really proud of their fundraising efforts. Senior prefect Sharni was involved in the project. She said: “I’m really proud we managed to raise the money to have the defibrillator. We choose a project to raise money for each year and wanted to do something that would benefit the local community.”
Vince Green, principal at Bristnall Hall Academy said: “We are extremely proud of the fact that the young people of Bristnall Hall not only chose this as their cause but worked together to raise all of the funds required. Their hard work, effort and commitment to this worthy cause speak volumes about them as exemplary citizens. As Principal, I am overwhelmed at what our students have achieved and provided for our community.

Councillor Simon Hackett, cabinet member for children’s services was there for the unveiling of the defibrillator. He said: “It’s great that the idea for the defibrillator came from the young people. They are clearly very mindful about the local community and have worked very hard to raise the money.”
Students at Bristnall Hall Academy choose a charity project to raise money each school year. The money raised for the defibrillator was from last year’s efforts. This year the students will be raising money for Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust to put towards a new sensory room.
