We are so excited that SHAPE Summer Fest 2022 is returning to Sandwell Valley on 16th July 2022 – and this year we will have a Cultural Education Zone featuring lots of different activities including the ones listed below.

A Story Tent

Drag Queen Story Time: Drag performer, and self confessed cutie pie, Queen Pom Pom, gives an engaging children’s storytime reading. Her colourful and fun outfits match her shows: full of bright, happy moments to get young people and children excited about reading. For all ages
Drop in writing workshop, Stories in Sandwell: Short writing exercises, prompts and fun activities with writer and experienced workshop leader William Gallagher. The young people can jump in for short 10 minute activities, or stay for as long as they like, with plenty of variety to keep them entertained and creating. For ages 6 – 25
Storyteller, Pyn Stockman: Climb up to the top of the beanstalk with Jack and discover a treasury of stories from around the world when you reach the top. It’s a wonderful view and a whirl of adventures. Told and performed in an engaging, lively style with plenty of opportunities for everyone to join in
Build your own story! Activity Table: Using worksheets, and with Artwork from throughout history for inspiration, the young people can draw or write their own story. For ages 4 upwards
Poetry Collective, Homegrown 31: Local young poets come together to bring our day to a close. Their reflective, bold, and unique styles will be showcased as we bring the voice of Sandwell to Sandwell Valley through creativity and poetry
