Unplug your devices and get outdoors this summer to try a host of fun and exciting activities. From a skating competition (including learning new skills and tricks), music, magic and circus skills, graffiti art, film making to climbing and sports – we’ve got it all coming to a park near you! The following parks will be hosting this programme:

Sandwell Youth Service will also be re-opening some of its youth clubs from this week at the following locations:

Young people will need to pre-book their place, as we will only be able to accept limited numbers due to social distancing and capacity within the clubs. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book your place and make sure you give your name and the club you wish to attend.

SHAPE Summer Fest Reimagined took place on Saturday 10 July and this year it was virtual!
You can now select different viewing channels from sports, arts and crafts, nature, health, performing arts, cooking, mental health and wellbeing and careers.
Activities range from all ages and include football training, anxiety workshops, illustration with rootz 0121 and much more. There is also a careers showcase in the afternoon for 16 – 25 year olds.
Malthouse Stables will be offering adventurous activity days which will include mountain biking and canoeing as part of the Holiday Activity & Food programme which have limited spaces available and will need to be pre-booked.

We will also have targeted provision for young women available throughout the summer. Young women will need to be referred to this programme and will need to meet our Enhanced Youth Support provision criteria.

In addition to the Shape Summer Fest and Youth Service offer, further activities and programmes are available through the Holiday activities and food programme.
The Department for Education’s Holiday Activities and Food Programme has provided funding for councils to deliver free fun activities linked to a food offer for children and young people who are eligible for free school meals during the summer holidays. The Rainbow Booklet Summer 2021 edition provides a range of wellbeing and physical activities for children and their families.
All activities within the Rainbow Booklet follow the concept of the 3C’s and are deliverable whilst following national guidance around social distancing:
A new edition of the book will be released every half term containing new activities for each of the 7 strands. Each Rainbow book will have activities suitable for Early Years right the way through to pupils in Year 13.
