How to get a Good Night’s Sleep…

Lots of people have said that they are really struggling to get a good night sleep for lots of reasons; this could be because they are feeling stressed and worried or not able to get as much exercise as normal.

If this is you – you aren’t alone! They are also saying that is making them feel grumpy and irritated the next day. Some of the tips below might help to feel happier and more awake!

Tips:-

  • Try to feel relaxed in your bed, count down from 500 in your head, taking a deep breath after each number
  • Try to stick to the same bedtime and wake-up time. Your brain and internal body clock needs to get used to a regular routine
  • Having a warm bath and light relaxation exercises such as yoga stretches will help your body to relax
  • Try to listen to music which is 60 to 80 beats per minute; this mimics the heartbeat and helps your mind to relax; “Clair de Lune” by Claude Debussy, “Weightless” by Marconi Union, “Canzonetta Sul-Aria” by Mozart and “Nocturne in E Flat Major Op.9 No.2” by Chopin have all been shown to help your mind to calm down and help you to sleep
  • Read a book before going to sleep for a few minutes can help to
  • Avoid using smartphones and tablets for an hour before you go to bed
