Coneygre Arts Centre provides a variety of opportunities for young people to engage in the arts with regular open access sessions around; live music, recording studio sessions, open mic nights, drama / theatre workshops, sound and lighting production, event / festival planning and even magic and circus skills.

The centre has trained youth workers who have additional skills around all of the above arts activities who can then develop relationships with young people to tackle their issues through their chosen art form.

Coneygre is also a registered centre for the Arts Award and young people can achieve a nationally recognised qualification from their participation in the arts.

We also deliver project-based Arts activities in partnership with other organisations to enhance the offer to young people.

MUSIC FOR LIFE

Our Music for Life sessions provide young people with the opportunity to develop their skills in live music and performing.  We provide space for individual performers and bands to practice / rehearse supported by our youth work team. Sessions cover many aspects ranging from instrument tuition, performing, lyric writing, band rehearsals, preparing young people for gigs / life on the road as well as supporting young people on any challenges they may be facing in their daily lives.

We also provide young people with the opportunity to perform at local community events and festivals throughout the year. For some of the young people, this may be the first time they have performed in front of an audience so can be a great experience and a stepping stone in to a possible future in live music.
