Anti-Bullying Week will take place from Monday 11th November – Friday 15th November 2024. The theme for this year is ‘Choose Respect’.

During Anti-Bullying Week, Sandwell Council’s SHAPE Team deliver an Anti-Bullying Roadshow, in partnership with West Midlands Police.

We will travel to various Primary and Secondary Schools in Sandwell including:

Primary Schools:

  • Hargate Primary School
  • Highfields Primary School
  • Joseph Turner Primary School

Secondary Schools:

  • West Bromwich Collegiate Academy

  • Perryfields Academy
  • Wood Green Academy (Sessions to take place in the new year)

The theme of this year’s roadshow is ‘Choose Respect’, which was decided following the Anti-Bullying Alliance’s consultation with teachers and pupils concluded concluding that they wanted a theme that empowered them to do something positive and counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.

The workshops will look at a variety of different topics including:

  • What does respect mean to me?
  • What does respect look like?
  • What does respect sound like?
  • Stereotypes & Biases
  • Appearance & Body Shaming
  • Racism
  • Ageism
  • Real life issues in the Sandwell community and wider
  • Online & Gaming
  • Cyberbullying
  • Anonymous reporting of crime on Fearless
  • Respect ‘pledge’

As well as Sandwell children and young people signing up to a pledge to ‘Choose Respect’, the SHAPE Team will also be making a pledge to continue to educate children and young people of the importance of ‘Choosing Respect’ regardless of the situation.

As part of this, we would like YOU to also pledge to ‘Choose Respect’ and tell us how are you going to do it!

If you would like to make a pledge, please complete the Google Form below or the form here
