This is a website designed for young people by young people.

The website is a free interactive online listings guide. You can register to be kept up to date of events and activities in Sandwell. Young people can post reviews and comments, make new friends, and publish their own events. Justyouth.org.uk lets you know what’s on in Sandwell, wherever you are, any time you like.


text youth arts at coneygre centre

A variety of music sessions and clubs run by youth workers, freelance artists and young artists. For example there is a Monday Music Club where young people can learn to play instruments and record their compositions. Sessions cover many aspects ranging from instrument tuition, performing, lyric writing, sound and light technology etc.

They also offer training routes for young people to progress from participation through volunteering and on to delivering workshops themselves.

text outdoor activities at the malthouse centre

The Malthouse Outdoor Activity Centre in Tipton hosts a selection of fun, developmental opportunities for young people aged 8 – 25 years.

Qualified staff arrange activities including mountain biking, archery, canoeing, raft building, team building games and climbing, catering for varying group sizes (minimum 6). The centre also provides activities with an emphasis on environmental issues.

The Sandwell Youth Bus is a fantastic tool to get young people engaged with youth workers in areas that may not have any youth provision or areas may be suffering from anti-social behaviour. Youth Workers can then develop programmes and projects with the young people to address their needs. / issues.

The new Media Bus offers an alternative to the double decker bus. This bus is mainly delivering educational and life skills programmes. The open sessions on the bus offer fun activities, computers, workshops providing specialist support for young people interested in undertaking their CV’s, job applications, career advice and engagement in positive activities.

The Media Bus also provides open access fun, training and specialist workshops in staying healthy, safe, drugs awareness or any issues affecting them. The youth bus also provides outreach library service and attends community events.

Offering many personal and professional development workshops to accreditation opportunities around First Aid, ASDAN, Food Hygiene and Duke of Edinburgh to name a few.  There are workshops available around Drugs and Alcohol, Sexual Health, Smoking Awareness, Teenage Pregnancy, Sexual Exploitation, Bullying, Self-Image, Confidence and more.

The clubs also have many social and recreational activities on offer such as PS3, XBox360 and Wii gaming, Pool, team games, multi-sports, arts and crafts etc.


Detached Youth Work is a model of youth work practice, targeted at vulnerable & excluded young people who mainstream youth work and services may not reach. It takes place on young people’s own territory such as streets, cafés, parks, outside shops etc. – at times that are appropriate to them and on their terms. It begins from where young people are in terms of their values, attitudes, issues and ambitions and is concerned with their personal and social development.
